FAQ
How does it work?
Once you schedule your session, we will discuss your goals and vision for the shoot including colours, props and poses.
I set aside plenty of time to complete your shoot, which is held in my cozy home studio in Bohle Plains.
At the end of the session, your unedited images will be displayed on a large screen, enabling you to pick your favorites before they are edited. Your selected images are all individually edited to ensure the image is balanced and color corrected. I carefully remove any imperfections from the shot and use a specialised process to enhance the image, highlighting all your babies’ beautiful features.
This process can take up to 4 weeks. Once your gallery of images has been fully edited, we will arrange your viewing session. During this appointment your images will be presented to you via a slideshow on a fully colour calibrated screen. Once you have had a chance to view all your images, you can select your favourites. Upon payment, your full gallery of edited images will be delivered to you via an online link in the following 12-24 hours. You will then be able to download all images from the gallery to your personal computers or devices.
During the viewing appointment we can also discuss your printing needs and you can select any artworks you would like to have created. I have plenty of samples in studio for you to inspect.
Photography products and artworks take between 2-3 week to arrive depending on what you order as all the products are handmade. Albums and Portfolio boxes are produced and shipped from Europe while Frames and Canvases are produced and shipped from Brisbane.
When is the best time to have newborn photos taken?
Babies are best photographed in the first 2 weeks of life, in order to achieve those beautiful sleepy, curly images. However, I have also successfully photographed babies in various dreamy poses from 2 weeks to 3 months. In many respects, some older babies can be more settled than a newborn as their little tummies have settled and they are no longer suffering from gas pains. So, if you are a new Mum who was busy just finding her feet in those brief first few weeks and missed the magical '2 week window' don't be discouraged. I am here to tell you that we can still achieve beautiful photos of your baby, and maybe even catch a glimpse of one of those rare 'first smiles'. All it takes is time and patience.
Where is your studio based?
I am based in Bohle Plains in Townsville. I am available to travel for Fresh 48 sessions in the Townsville area, upon arrangement. If you live further away please contact me and we can discuss travel requirements and I can provide you with a quote.

Can we get photos taken with our older toddler?
Photo's with your newborn and your toddler together can be absolutely beautiful and just about the cutest thing you will ever see. The process to get those photos may seem daunting with an overexcited toddler and a fragile newborn. However, with some careful planning and patience we can get some great shots. Toddlers have a very short attention span so if you are after sibling shots these will be the first ones we do, while your toddler can still focus. After the sibling and family photos are taken I advise that one parent or another family member take your toddler home while the newborn only photos are taken. The session can take a couple more hours to complete and young children and toddlers do not have the patience required to sit quietly while this process is happening. Additionally a photographic studio is not a safe place for a toddler to play. I will also require at least one parent to be assisting with the newborn while images are being shot.
